Mae'n fore dydd Llun ac mae Elin yn aros am y bws i fynd i'r ysgol. Mae hi'n gweld ei ffrind Carys yn dod i lawr y stryd.

Elin: Helo Carys sut wyt ti heddiw?

Carys: Wedi blino. Gormod o waith cartref i wneud dros y penwythnos. Sut wyt ti? Wyt ti wedi cael penwythnos da?

Elin: Dw i'n iawn diolch ac ydw, dw i wedi cael penwythnos da ond mae'n mynd yn rhy gyflym!Wyt ti'n dal y bws heddiw?

Carys: Ydw. Dw i'n teimlo'n ddiog a dw i ddim eisiau cerdded y bore yma!

Elin: Beth wyt ti'n wneud yn yr ysgol heddiw?

Carys: Dw i'n mynd i checio'r amserlen. Dw i'n anobeithiol – dw i ddim yn gallu cofio'r amserlen o gwbl! O na! Mathemateg yn gyntaf. Dw i ddim yn hoffi Mathemateg. Mae'n rhy anodd. Wedyn Bioleg ac wedyn Hanes. Dw i'n caru Hanes! Beth wyt ti'n wneud y bore yma?

Elin: Gwyddoniaeth yn gyntaf, Cymraeg yn ail ac wedyn Daearyddiaeth. Dw i'n hoffi Gwyddoniaeth ond dw i ddim yn hoffi'r athro! Mae Mr Jones wastad yn gweiddi! Beth wyt ti'n wneud amser cinio?

Carys: Dw i'n cwrdd â Lowri, Gethin ac Evan. Maen nhw yn y clwb drama gyda fi a dyn ni eisiau ymarfer sgript y ddrama dyn ni'n perfformio nos Iau wythnos nesa. Dyn ni wedi ysgrifennu drama am hanes pobl o Gymru yn America. Beth wyt ti'n wneud?

Elin: Dw i'n mynd i'r llyfrgell. Dw i angen dychwelyd cwpl o lyfrau, casglu cwpl o lyfrau a dw i eisiau llungopïo cwpl o bethau. Ydy dy rieni'n dod i weld y ddrama?

Carys: Ydyn. Wel, mae Dad yn dod. Dyw Mam ddim yn gallu dod. Mae hi'n gweithio'n hwyr yn anffodus. Beth wyt ti'n wneud y prynhawn yma?

Elin: Sbaeneg, Celf a Llenyddiaeth Americanaidd. Dyn ni'n astudio The Grapes of Wrath gan John Steinbeck ar hyn o bryd. Mae'n nofel dda iawn. Beth amdanat ti?

Carys: Saesneg - dw i wedi gorffen y gwaith cartef diolch byth - wedyn Drama a Chwaraeon. Pêl-foli heddiw.

Elin: Dw i'n gwneud Chwaraeon yfory. Pêl-foli hefyd. Dw i'n gobeithio ennill lle yn y tîm.

Carys: O! Pob lwc! Rwyt ti'n haeddu lle yn y tîm.

Elin: Diolch i ti! Ble mae'r bws? Faint o'r gloch yw hi? Dyn ni'n mynd i fod yn hwyr am y dosbarth cyntaf.

Carys: Mae hi'n ugain munud i wyth. Mae'r bws yn dod am hanner awr wedi saith fel arfer. Dw i ddim eisiau bod yn hwyr. Dw i'n hoffi bod ar amser neu'n gynnar.

Elin: Dw i'n cytuno. Edrych! Mae'r bws yn dod o'r diwedd!

Carys: Diolch byth!

This is the fourth of a new series of revision translation exercises written by Matt Spry ( Eisteddfod Welsh Language Learner 2018). These exercises utilize the vocabulary and grammar that you have already learned on the Croeseiriau Cymraeg course so far. There may be one or two words that you are unfamiliar with but you can always look them up. There will be six exercises in the series when complete.

As you can see above the English and Welsh texts are on separate tabs SO you can translate from Welsh to English or vice versa. You can also use the Welsh text as a reading and comprehension exercise if you don't feel fully confident to translate it straight off the bat. We are sure that this resource will prove invaluable however you decide to use it. Mwynhewch!

It's Monday morning and Elin is waiting for the bus to go to school. She sees her friend Carys coming down the street.

Elin: Hello Carys how are you today?

Carys: Tired. Too much homework to do over the weekend. How are you? Have you had a good weekend?

Elin: I'm fine thanks and yes, I've had a good weekend but it goes too fast! Are you catching the bus today?

Carys: Yes. I'm feeling lazy and I don't want to walk this morning!

Elin: What are you doing at school today?

Carys: I'm going to check the timetable. I'm hopeless - I can't remember the timetable at all! Oh no! Math first. I don't like Math. It's too difficult. Then Biology and then History. I love History! What are you doing this morning?

Elin: Science first, Welsh second and then Geography. I like Science but I don't like the teacher! Mr Jones is always shouting! What are you doing at lunchtime?

Carys: I'm meeting Lowri, Gethin and Evan. They're in the drama club with me and we want to rehearse the script of the play we're performing Thursday night next week. We've written a play about the history of Welsh people in America. What are you doing?

Elin: I'm going to the library. I need to return a couple of books, collect a couple of books and I want to photocopy a couple of things. Are your parents coming to see the play?

Carys: Yes. Well, Dad's coming. Mum can't come. She is working late unfortunately. What are you doing this afternoon?

Elin: Spanish, Art and American Literature. We're studying The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck at the moment. It's a really good novel. What about you?

Carys: English - I've finished the homework thank goodness - then Drama and Sports. Volleyball today.

Elin: I'm doing Sports tomorrow. Volleyball as well. I'm hoping to win a place in the team.

Carys: Oh! Good luck! You deserve a place in the team.

Elin: Thank you! Where is the bus? What time is it? We're going to be late for the first class.

Carys: It's twenty to eight. The bus usually comes at half past seven. I don't want to be late. I like being on time or early.

Elin: I agree. Look! The bus is coming at last!

Carys: Thank goodness!
