Thanks, Gaaibe...I haven't seen this site, only the real deal. They call it Sunset Beach and in season the folks that own that tip of land (Amazingly it is still private) bring the Stars and Stripes down to canned taps. Everyone stops what they are doing and watches the sun go down and appreciates the moment. People from all over the world go there, as it is some of the best ever birding. Monarch butterflies also congregate there in the fall, crossing the Delaware Bay when the winds are just right. They are on their way to Mexico for the winter.I have been there when there was a bag piper playing. That was special.

Thank you both! Yes, I like this pic and I'm going to have that one printed and frame it. I really like the composition, the line that pulls around from Heron standing in the back to Bannyr crouched in the front. I thought of increasing the saturation in the background behind the ship - the sky, sea, dune - as I thought it was too blown out and lifeless but I think that's actually good - you can make out what it is but it doesn't compete with the foreground images (which compete with each other) at all.

the contrast of old and young, color and tones, the caged sense, with the open sea and sky beyond...it is powerful, gaaibe. I have taken some shots of the concrete ship off the southern tip of NJ. They are in storage at the mo or I would share (probably could get them off internet if you plugged in Concrete ship Sunset Beach CapeMay Point
