Congratulations Ceri and your team for organising anold Welsh tradition. I only wish I could have been there and seen it "live"
09/27/11 09:29:18PM @mona-everett:
It was wonderful to see the Southern California Welsh Choir on Friday and Sunday-and several of my friends who sing with them. I am glad they participated in the WCE!
It was so much fun! Definitely not your grandad's eisteddfod, but wonderful to see so many different generations enjoying themselves there--from babes in arms to, I'mguessing,90-year-olds! I am so glad I went out for this--it was wonderful to meet some Americymrians (I just made that word up!, although maybe we're Americambrians?) in person and support Ceri, Gaabi and Lorin, who all did a great job organizing it all. The park was a lovely setting, too.
Thanks for this video Ceri. It was such an honor to be asked to participate in opening the Eisteddfod, and Tarw Llwyd and I are so grateful to have had Peter there, who knew first-hand the traditional openingso that we could honor it as best we could under the circumstances. It was also wonderful beyond description to be among those whobrought tolife in so many waysthe old culture that I have only been able to read about. Diolch!
Diolch Gaynor...we apologise for the lack of reporting over the weekend. It was very hectic ( approximately 1600 attendees ) and it didn't help that our flip camera broke down and there was no wi fi in our motel room. Anyway there will be many more reports over the next week. I am hoping to make the announcements about the online competitions and the Lovespoon and Jeff Phillips artwork draw later on today. At the moment we are still trundling our way along I5 back to Portland ( 963 mile drive ) but should be back some time in the afternoon later today.

Sounds like it was a great event, wish I had been there. Hopefully there will be another occasion to attend next year.
Well done.

Heddwch! Rather moving to see the old culture carried on so many thousands of miles away.
