Oberons Three-Penny Tavern is the accumulated effort of one of Jordan Mackays longest-running dreams to run a Shakespearean tavern in Ashland, Oregon! So if you enjoy the thought of armored bouncers, juggling musicians, great plays, fantastic beers and beautiful serving wenches, come belly up to the bar and enjoy a night at Oberons!
Heres another idea submitted by one of our models:-
@SwanseaJack Love the pantaloons. Heres another suggestion:-
I think Gaabi is referring to the 'greek' photos she posted earlier. They are now on page 2 in this thread
@SJ I'ts yellow!
AND...is he rolling a cig or playing a harmonica?
@Lorin lol....could very well be! BUT who is that masked man?
Although I must say, awesome socks! Is that your wedding pic? You guys look great.
@Lorin Also from the Wikipedia "The costume worn by men and boys in Wales was rarely illustrated or described because it was very similar to that worn by men in England." In other words there really isn't a Welsh national costume for men. Never has been........the outfit you describe below ( from the same Wiki article ) is simply what was worn by persons of a certain class in Britain ( England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland ) during the 19th century ( approx ). There was probably very little regional variation.
The lack of a defining item of apparel for men ( e.g. the Scottish kilt ) and the lack of an iconic ensemble similar to the traditional Welsh women's costume is our cue here. I have already had a few suggestions via email. Here is one I received from one of our models earlier today:-
Lorin, pffft! Facts and mundane truths, pshaw! I prefer Mr. Jones' very fine example, below.
CHOOSE a male Welsh national costume? Gasp! This isn't it?!
(Bitterly disappointed! Taking up Greece as a hobby now...
