I was very nervous, hard to believe but it was absolutely freezing in that room, not that you'd guess by how shiny I am !

Trevor Fishlock helped put me at ease as much as he could. Was very kind, I had a couple of books of his from the Wild Tracks series, but was more familiar with him as a TV presenter.

Hadn't fully appreciated that he used to write for The Times and Daily Telegraph from India and Moscow, and reported from virtually every corner of the globe. Has written a big stack of books on America as well as Welsh, Russian, and Indian history, very erudite guy. Definitely worth adding to the bookshop.

Hi, my ancestor Thomas Isaac Picton of Treherbert was 1917 Royal Navy light heavyweight champion. I think he had a brief spell as a professional and, in France on his way to the Spanish Civil War, was put in the ring with a bear! Regrettably he was murdered by Fascist guards in Bilbao.
