Late Night Strategy Sessions powered by Pizza and Caffeine
Late night strategy sessions powered by pizza and loads of caffeine. Remember during college days working all-night on a term paper then reading it the next morning? Perhaps the lowly spider can explain why government strategists usually get it all wrong. The plan seemed so good at the time...
He survived somewhere between 15 and 30 assassination attempts:-
Assassination attempts on Adolf Hitler
I'm sure it did give him delusions of grandeur and invulnerability. Scott-Ellis said that Hitler was perfectly charming about the whole thing. Think of all the lives that could have been saved and all the horror that could have been avoided (not to mention the problems we have in the Middle East today) if the accident had been fatal.
Gaynor, interesting--and in an odd way, who knows? It may have reinforced Hitler's belief that he was invulnerable. He survived poison gas in the Great War, being struck down in the street as a pedestrian and towards the end the bomb at Wolf's Lair. Those narrow escapes helped, no doubt, to reinforce his delusions. That and coffee and his personal drug pusher.
Fascinating. Only today I read about John Scott- Ellis, 9th Baron Howard de Walden, who, in 1931 was in Munich and took out his car for the first time. Someone stepped in front of the car and was mown down (though not really hurt); he introduced himself as Adolf Hitler. How different the world would have been if Scott-Ellis had been going just a little faster!
Churchill was also involved in a car accident in the same year.
Thats it!!!!!!! The missing Welsh connection! The number of times I have seen spoof Hitler ranting videos on YouTube and never once realised that it was Anthony Hopkins. How could I have missed that? Of course you realise that we now have the perfect excuse to flood the site with 'Hitler reacts to......' videos. The temptation may prove too strong
Ceri, yes...thankfully.
However, he [High Hitler] bore a striking resemblance to one Welshman I know...
As you might expect there are a number of very good books on the subject of Morel and Hitler. Here is one:- http://www.amazon.com/The-Medical-Casebook-Adolf-Hitler/dp/0595423531/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_2/187-4606198-3999915
NOT on the Welsh American Bookstore I might add. However fascinating the subject matter I just cant see any Welsh connection ( thankfully )
I did notice that! LOL
A Morel mushroom is not the type of mushroom, however, that produces psychosis. Except, perhaps, when consumed with caffeine.
Hitler himself was not so pleased. Here is his reaction to the film ( PARENTAL ADVISORY XXX for foul language and ranting )
I LOVE the title: High Hitler.
Now i can see why a two front war made perfect sense at the time...
