Promoting Wales in the USA

Amazing! Have joined that Facebook group and wrote this:- First the EU dropped Wales off a map and now Facebook! We soon told the EU and put that right. Now we must tell Facebook. Tell everyone - Wales exists! I came to live in Wales by accident. 11 years ago I fell, broke my wrist, could not drive for 3 months. I have lived here eversince. This is my home. I love it - the village (Myddfai in the Brecon Beacons National Park) my neighbours, who have been unfailingly kind. The history, culture, the food! I am not Welsh speaking but insisted that my books are translated into Welsh (perfect for Welsh learners) and, via the not for profit company - Learn with Grandma - I co-founded work to promote minority languages, history & culture - and fun! Running a Grandparents Day at The National Botanic Gardens on 7 August. Loads of fun activities for grandparents & kids to do together.Put grandmas world into search box & join my group! You don't have to be a granny - granny fans welcome too.

Do have a look at this Facebook group. It's time they made a movie about Owain Glyndwr

General Discussions ( Anything Goes )

Excellent.Re my trip to USA in July. There have only been 6 cases of Swine Fever here in UK, all responded to (unpleasant) treatment but all got the infection on the plane home. I am wondering if I should book now. Papers here say it is spreading throughout USA. Government advice here is don't fly to USA unless you have to. What do you think? Is it being hyped up?

Dear TamHuw would be a great choice but it is a bit early to nominate actors - I doubt the film makers would pay any attention anyway! The first step is to convince the film makers, so that they can convince the money people, that the public would pay to watch a film about a Welsh hero that they have probably never heard of.Joining this Facebook group - It's time they made a movie about Owain Glyndwr - just might help a bit. They have nearly 1,500 members. I think they would need a 0 or 2 on the end before Hollywood would be interested but TV might get interested.

It would be great to have a film about Owain Glyndwr, a Welsh Hero!We need hero's and grannies! They want more people to join the group to show film makers that there are Welsh fans and Welsh people all over the world who want to learn more and tell others about our Hero's.I have started a new Facebook group too Grandmas World. No ' in Grandmas - my grandson Adam set it up! You don't have to be a granny to join. Granny fans are welcome too!I am just about to search the web for flight details. I will be in USA in July but probably not for my Birthday this year. I have missed the cheap flights for 4 July!!
