This flag depicts the people who live on Grand Isle, who have been highly motivated to reestablish their homes after numerous storms. Grand Isle has been rated the #1 target for storms, & during my 9 years of living there, have experienced (or escaped from) 19 named storms that either directly or partially hit the island. The yellow lightning bolt represents those storms.
