Hi TamI thought I was going to post a picture of the lovespoon which was recently collected by the National Museum of Wales at St Fagans, but I'm so hopeless on the computer, I put up the wrong pic!! If I can get my act together, I'll have another go at it tomorrow. The spoon thats up right now was indeed a commission. Designed for koi carp fanciers, the main thrust of the design was the fish/water theme. This is a very untraditional design, but the spoon is a very romantic one for its recipients.Thank you for the kind compliment Tam!CheersDave

A Welsh lovespoon designed for a 43rd wedding anniversary. 4 fish symbolize the decades and 3 leaves the years. The Celtic knotwork symbolizes swirling water and eternity. I have just released a book with Fox Chapel Publishing entitled "The Fine Art of Lovespoon Carving" and I hope that Americymru members will check it out at their local bookstore! Its high time that lovespoon carving was recognized for the wonderful tradition and craft it is! My book will help you to carve a lovespoon of your own (or better yet, to give) and will teach you that lovespoons are much, much more than the mundane crap you see in tourist shops! With best wishes to all at Americymru.Dave
