Hi AlwynWell Parry is a common name in the Rhondda Fach, I was in the Army with a Parry from Maerdy, there is a Parry Street in Tylorstown, and the name pops up in the phone book quite a bit to. The sheep don't come into the villages any more and there are fewer on the hills as well. mostly forrest now. But the tip can still be seen from most places in the valley still. It being famous, as metioned in the film"The English man who went up a hill and came down.", because without the tip that would be a hill not a mountain.

almost half a century ago I recall visiting this village long tailed sheep were visiting the dustbins dogs were barking old miners were coughing and John Vowles was getting married .It was a part of Wales that I had not visited before but it was a part of Wales I have always felt an affinity with since.
