Yeah Cardiff is something of a boozy city, or at least the town centre is. They built a 72,500 seater all weather sports stadium right in the center of town with the inevitable result that the city center streets all have to be closed on match days because there are thousands of people milling around, many of them without tickets for the match. That in turn led to one of the main streets being turned into a procession of bars with large screen tv's so that the ticketless could still watch the game. On international days the town center has a mardi gras feeling about it but of course so many bars in one place means that its party time pretty much all year round. Still, whether you go there for the night life or not Cardiff has one hell of a lot to offer as a tourist destination.

Seems not so unlike some cities in Southern California.
