Thursday December 9 2010, 8:00 PM
@ THE RAVEN PLAYHOUSE, 5233 Lankershim Blvd, North...
featuring "A Child's Christmas In Wales"
An Claidheamh Soluis/The Celtic Arts Center will once again celebrate the career of the quintessential Twentieth-Century Welsh bard,
Dylan Thomas, with the dramatic reading of selected works including the seasonal favorite --
"A Child's Christmas In Wales." Dylan Thomas wrote exclusively in the English, yet his poetry,
short stories and plays were infused with the lyrical cadence and lilt that's emblematic of the Welsh.
The main themes of his poetry were nostalgia, life, death, and lost innocence.
He wrote often about his past as a boy or as a young man.
And Wales, and the Welsh landscapes and people, became an integral part of his writing.
The Raven Playhouse in the heart of the NoHo Arts District for a wonderful evening full of the prose and poetry of Dylan Thomas.
The evening's readings, coordinated by Joe Praml, will be presented by the ACS Theatre Committee members and fans of Welsh bard.
Refreshments will be served.
