Have had Adobe Digital Editions explained to me in words of one syllable so I understand its purpose. But that leads me to the question of why other books from Kindle have downloaded properly on to my PC without it!
No problem. I did download to Kindle on my PC. I'll have a look at this Adobe thing. I won't worry about a credit and I can read it again on Americymru anyway. It does illustrate that e-books are not as easy to deal with as is made out!!
I used Adobe digital Editions it's free to download it was ok.
I'm going to give smashwords a try anyway thanks for the tip, shall I ask Amazon to credit you for the download it's not fair if you didn't get the whole book, or I can send you the Pdf, let me know, Thanks.
I was fortunate to have Rhianne doing my book, I think I'd have thrown my PC out of the window if I'd done it! Now I've gone to Smashwords for the next books. As an experiment, I saved a book (from A4) to A5 format, just to get an idea of the problems with gaps and so on. Probably not scientifically correct though. Had I known about Smashwords before, I would never have bothered with Kindle.
Isnt Kindle formatting a barrel of laffs? Gaabriel is just finishing one up now for a science fiction writer....pages of conflicting and contradictory advice everywhere, no clear guidelines from Amazon.....all the fun of the fair
I don't want to cause apanic but it might be wise to check with people you know who've downloaded A Sheep's Tail from Kindle that they haven't had the same problem as I've had. It may just be me for some reason. I downloaded to Kindle on my PC (I don't have an e-reader) and have the cover, the foreword, then a page with 18 on the top (looks like the last few paragraphs of the story) followed by the very first page of the story. After that I don't seem to have anything. Believe me when I say that I know it's not as easy as it seems to do an e-book and it can take several tries to get it right.
