The Left Coast Eisteddfod is raising money to fly Welsh artists, musicians and authors to Portland for this years event in October. To this end we have entered the Chase Community Giving competition on Facebook. If we come in the top 200 when the final vote is tallied we will win $20,000. This will enable us to significantly expand our program of events. We pledge that every cent will be used for the above mentioned purpose and will contribute to gaining extra exposure for Welsh artists in the US.

If you have already voted....diolch yn fawr. If you have not we include detailed directions below. We have become aware that many people have gone to the page to vote and found it somewhat confusing. In some cases people have 'Liked' the app and thought they had voted. This is not the case . Please check by following the instructions below....if you have not voted you will be allowed to do so. If you have the page will simply offer you the opportunity to 'Share With Friends'. There is nothing to fear....the app will not allow you to vote twice:)

Currently we are ranked at position 114 with 162 votes. We need to stay in the top 200 to qualify for $20,000. Please read the directions below and vote for us ( or check if you think you already may have done ) WE URGENTLY NEED AT LEAST 200 VOTES A WEEK TO STAY IN THE RUNNING!!

Here are the directions:-

1. Log in to Facebook and register with the app http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/ ....you need to give it permission to access your profile.

2. Click on 'Search and Vote' which is in a bar with a green background just below the 'Like' button. DO NOT just click on the 'Like' button. You need to click 'Like' but this alone does not constitute a vote. All this will do is 'Like' the application. This is very important...a lot of people have done this and thought they had voted. CLICKING ON LIKE DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE VOTED.

3. On the search page:- http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/search enter ... meriwether lewis memorial eisteddfod foundation ... in the 'Charity Name' search box ( cut'n'paste will do ). This will bring us up in the search results. Click on the link to take you to the voting page. You should then see a bar ( green background ) with the words 'Vote Now' . Click it and you're done. You should see the vote counter increase by one and your Facebook profile pic will be added to the display of the last six voters on the page.

Also If you could 'Like' this post by clicking on the Facebook 'Like' button in the top right hand corner of the page you will be helping to make the appeal blogpost go viral by displaying it in peoples News Feeds on Facebook.

If anyone has a blog or website there is a link button and code on our voting page. Unfortunately this is a bitly link which seems to expire after a few days. I have attached the link code ( click linkcode.txt below ) which we are using on AmeriCymru ( which works ) as a text file. Anytone can use this and it takes people straight to our voting page ( assuming they are logged into FB and have given the app permission to access their profile.
