His grandfather was George Powell of Brynmawr, a grocer on King Street. I believe his sons George and Dan also worked in the business along with his niece/stepdaughter, Florence. The family has, I believe, assumed that this picture was taken in Brynmawr, but it could have been taken in the neighborhood of Cwmfelinfach. Anyone recognize the store front or people, circa 1923-1924?

I'm not sure exactly when this photo was taken or how old my father was at the time. I believe that he emigrated with his mother and two sisters shortly after this was taken and met up with his father and brother in the Wilkes Barre, Pa area prior to the great depression.
