Well...
I'm just so....so....tired and frustrated.
Murphy has struck again. Darn you Murphy!
Okay...so, I am in a huge bind.
In my art, I use a small printer extensively.
As Murphy's Law dictates, my printer just died ~
right at the beginning stages of an exciting and big project.
I am illustrating a book about "Tylwyth Teg" (Welsh Faeries) for A Raven Above Press and I have 20 illustrations due before August.
I am also creating the cover for the book and I need to get started on that ASAP.
With no printer, I'm sort of doomed.
So....I am having a half price sale on every item in my Entire Shop .
I desperately need to get a new printer.
If you've ever been curious about my art or have wanted to purchase a piece, now is the time!
I am so afraid that I might have to back out of this book project, which would be sad, sad, sad and heartbreaking.
Any and all purchases would be so deeply appreciated.
If you're interested in helping, simply use coupon code MURPHY to get 50% off anything in my shop.
Thank you so so much!
xoxo

Thank you so much for your ideas! I still haven't raised the money to get a printer, but I'm not giving up just yet. I have a couple more days to try.

The problem with going to somewhere like Kinkos is that I'm not using this printer to make my actual art prints. I use this small printer to make scans of my vintage photo that I use in my art. The ink has to be high quality or the coating I put on my finished art will smudge the ink. OH my...my work is such a weird and long process. I can't really explain it.

I sure appreciate all the feedback here.

Kimberly, another "stop gap" possibility might be to use FedEX Kinkos to make color prints of your artwork to meet contractual deadlines. You can even submit the artwork online to FedEX Kinko (as well some other cheaper competitors). Good luck with this!

You may have already done this but I park myself on craigslist for this type of thing and you might find something for free there or also check the general and business for sale sections and post that you need one, too -

A small 3 color ink plus black ink Epson. I work with 2 printers. A really big nice one for my art prints and a smaller, basic colored ink-jet Epson to print off my scans for the art I create. It's a whole long, weirdy process, but I can't make create the actual pieces without a small printer. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone will come along and purchase a piece or two, but so far, not good.

Kimberly, what was your printer?

Thank you Ceri! I hope I can get a few sales. I'm so excited about doing the Tylwyth Teg illustrations. I'm giving myself a few more days to gather up the funds for the printer. If not, then at that time, I'll probably have to tell Lorin that he needs to find another artist. Trying to stay positive.
