Yes the apple is still there - I remember it there as a child when I went with my family to Limeslade Bay - one of my favourites. Although I'm not sure why it was one of my favourites. It was full of pebbles whilst other beaches had lovely golden sand where we could build sandcastles, dams, etc. More importantly I could bury my brother in the sand!! It's Swansea's answer to the 'Big Apple' so look out New York there's competition!!
I cant see the Mumbles train ever returning although it was a very sad day when it went. So many people use the promenade for walking, cycling, roller blading, dog-walking etc there's no room for the train now. They do have a land train (very small version) doing part of the route which visitors enjoy and the children in particular.
