It was built in the19thC. It's known as The Rhondda Cathedral even though it's only a church. It's quite spacious for a local church though. There's another similar church in Tallis Street where I live.

Known as The Rhondda Cathedral, Saint Peters dominates Pentre village. It's Cof E or more correctly now The Church in Wales. Religion played a very important part in valley life particularly after the revival of 1904. Non Conformist chapels abound in the valleys with a nod to the established Church and one or two Catholic outlets.
