For the discerning gentleman returning from too many visits to the well, this marvellous edifice has served the male populace of Cwmparc with distinction for decades. Ahem!

I hope the local council have declared this a Grade 1 listed building....lol. There used to be a few similar structures littered around Cardiff...all now sadly gone.

These things were built when a woman wouldn't be caught dead staggering back from the boozer or be caught in one for that matter. There are a number of these still scattered throughout the upper Rhondda. It's instructive that at one time Treorchy cemetery had one of these outside the cemetery gates. Only men attended funerals at the graveside.

Just what this site needed...a picture of a genuine Welsh brick outhouse....lol.
