The problem with a border town like Wrexham is compounded in as much as the new houses are usually bought by 'incomers' who are normally English.I am not a racist or anti English(I married one) but it annoys me when they moan about foreigners moving into their country and paying scant regard to their customs and language, yet they do exactly that when they move to Wales.People who call themselves Welsh are fast becoming a minority in this corner of Wales.Sorry another raw nerve.

I was greatly saddened to see this video... and to read gaabi's comments... ("they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot")... the term "business ethics" is an oxymoron, and there is a serious lack of social consciousness for many of those driven by the pursuit of money. But in the final analysis, I still hear my late father's words: "There is no problem on earth that couldn't be greatly improved or resolved if there were only half as many people." The type of problems shown here are due to too many people and not enough resources, and I am afraid it is only likely to get worse. >_<</body>

Thanks for posting this - we have this same problem in Oregon. Real estate speculators from more affluent states moved here because land and houses were cheap, brought their early retirement monies to get rich quick flipping real estate and drove the prices up so high Oregonians can't afford to buy homes or even rent most of them. When we complain, they call us useless white trash and say they'll be glad to see us go, that we don't deserve our own city and state. They came because it was beautiful and known for its natural beauty and then they cut down the native trees so they "can have some sun" and replace them with crappy shrub cultivars that don't belong. They complain non-stop about our weather and and environmental protections which they want to destroy. I see a bumper sticker here. "We Cut Down All the Trees and Named Streets After Them." The house I grew up in was in a filbert orchard and now all that is gone and replaced with a very ugly development of cheap mini McMansions, right on top of each other, I couldn't afford to rent one, much less buy one, even if I wanted to. It's painful to go there and see it. No one builds affordable housing, they just build luxury houses and condos - everything has to have marble countertops and cherry cabinets and cost five times what it should or what people can afford. Now they can't sell them so they're trying to rent them for cost, which is three to five times what the rent should be, as though calling an apartment a "condo" justifies that - if I'm renting it, it's an apartment!Sorry, you hit a nerve! Good luck and I support your protests 100%!
