I remember Uncle Bobby at WGN AM 720 radio in Chicago having a special call-in hotline each Holiday season for Jews, Christians and Moslems to volunteer to work in place of others so adherents to each faith could take "time off" during their special Holy Days to spend time with their families. It was quite moving to hear Jews volunteering to work shifts for Christians and Christians volunteering to work for Jews and Moslems volunteering to work for Jews etc. Uncle Bobby was a real treasure in Chicago.
Nice - both the article and Uncle Bobby. THAT'S the kind of thing we need!
What a marvellous idea. I think that's something that could really take off if companies started such a scheme. Good old Uncle Bobby.
