I have written to The Times but I doubt it will be published. I've posted a new picture today of a letter, again to The Times, regarding Question 17 in the national census. In the English version, Question 17 is deliberately left blank and that has exercised people's imaginations. In the Welsh version (which my parents have received), it asks at Question 17 whether the person completing the form speaks, understands, reads and writes Welsh. To save money, the census people chose to remove that question in the England version, rather than produce a separate form.
