Whoo-hoo! We've got Welsh TV in WELSH!!!
Americymru member Helen Davies works for ITV local Cymru , a Welsh website which shows daily news coverage and has an archive of shows which include: "like Pobol Y Chyff with Rhys Ifans, Torri Gwynt with Dewi Pws, Ffalabalam, Miri Mawr, Ty Chwith with Wcw, Troi a Throi etc." For ease of access for our members we have embedded ITV local Cymru's broadcast page here on the site - it's in the Today tab in the navigation bar at the top of each page. http://americymru.ning.com/Wpage/itvlocalcom-1 Here's Helen's post on this in Cymraeg:- http://americymru.ning.com/forum/topics/gwefan-itv-local-cymru and a translation for people, like me, who don't speak Welsh yet:"ITV LC is a relatively new website broadcasting daily news bulletins on video, and also a number of S4C classics such as... Some new ones are added each week. Also filming events round Wales not shown anywhere else. If you have any requests for programmes from the archive or for stuff for us to film, contact... let us know what you think of the site."Hopefully this will, besides being interesting to Welsh speakers, be an aid for those of us who want to learn and don't have people around we can talk to.Thank you so much, Helen and ITV local Cymru!
Oh what a trip down memory lane; Torri Gwynt with Dewi Pws, Ffalabalam, Miri Mawr, Ty Chwith with Wcw, Troi a Throi etc."
I am sure it must be brilliant to be able to have Welsh Tv and in Welsh as well.
I really enjoyed this post and still need to follow one link.
I am still new on here but I am so glad I came on here to join you all.
Enjoy your day.
Eddy.
Yeah, I don't know why people do that, really. You're blocking out a huge chunk of audience. Just doesn't make sense. 40% of people on here don't use IE and the proportion of people who do use it has shrunk significantly in the last eight months.James, message Helen and ask her about that show and maybe they could add it, I don't know.
Any chance of getting Barry Welsh is Coming??? I can't remember whether it was on S4C or not though... Maybe HTV. That program would flood back far too many memories of Hugh Pugh... :D
A couple of people have had trouble with their player as it's for IE only. We're all Linux here and we used the mplayer for Mozilla which can be downloaded here .They have packages for Mac on the "unofficial packages page" but they don't offer support for them so check the providers of those packages out before you download.
Diolch y fawr iawn, Helen. Absolutely fantastic.
If you havent seen 'Gavin and Stacey' yet -check it out - it is very funny - and very Cardiff/Barry
Wow... this is truly a blessed event! I have no idea what they are saying, but the sound of the spoken Cymraeg is pure music to my ears, and food for the soul! Diolch yn fawr!Brian
Yep I'm gonna find this useful for the same purpose
Thats great!!! since S4C updated the site and now you can't access the shows if you live outside the UK, I've been missing watching my Welsh shows and hearing the language to get it in my ear
