You can tell by the orderly fashion in which the other cars are still parked that the water rose and receded with less violence than it did out on the barrier islands. I've been to that dock many times.

Another problem is that when these batteries have to be replaced not only is it VERY costly (wiping out any previous savings) but they're also a source of toxic heavy-metals .

Good question! Kind of scary isn't it? The lithium is supposed to be sealed inside the battery but leaks do occur. I purchased a new camera not long ago and it had a sticker warning against lithium batteries and warning that the warranty could be made void.

Does that mean that you can't drive them in the rain?

Sixteen Fisker Karma Luxury Eco-Friendly Cars (valued at over $100,000.00 each) burst into flame then exploded after being briefly submerged at the Port of New Jersey during Hurricane Sandy.

The cause? Fisker Karma says it has no idea. But...Lithium (as in green Eco-Friendly batteries) plus water equals sizzle, sizzle boom!
