Croeseiriau Cymraeg: Croeso i'r Geiriadur / Welcome to the Dictionary

geiriadur.jpg This resource is intended to be used in conjunction with the online Croeseiriau Cymraeg Welsh language course. The Geiriadur contains approximately 2000 entries but it is not a fully featured Welsh language dictionary. We recommend the following dictionaries for general research and study purposes:

    Geiriadur Ar-lein Cymraeg-Saesneg

    Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru

    Croeseiriau Cymraeg

The Geiriadur comprises a series of entries or wordcards (see example below). As you progress through the course there are a series of 24 crosswords which are designed to test your vocabulary.

    blwch.jpg

As you will see if you click on the above example , 'wordcards' are arranged with links to other entries and students are encouraged to 'browse' and satisfy their curiosity. The Geiriadur also functions as a grammar, and much important grammatical and syntactical information is contained in the notes which accompany individual entries. How to use:-

    • Students are encouraged to wander and accumulate knowledge of the language at their own pace and according to their own schedule if that is how they learn best.

    • For those who require a more structured approach please follow this link for an overview of the course as a whole.

Whatever you do - mwynhewch / enjoy.
