Thursday 10th September - 15 year old Welsh born Siobhan Owen won the "Junior Vocal Championship" (ages 14 to 18) at the Adelaide Eisteddfod in Australia. The entrants had to sing an Italian Aria, English Art Song and a song by an Australian composer.

Llongyfarchiadau Siobhan. Dal ati - keep at ti. Today we celebrate an Eisteddfod in Gaiman, called Eisteddfod del Juventud, an Eisteddfod for the young age 0 - 26. About half the competitions are Welsh in language or flavour and the other half in Spanish or Argentine in flavour (folkloric dances form the north of Argentina for example). Regards. Gwyn
