Welsh Border Patrol ( Archived: Complete )

Started by Ceri Shaw on September 15, 2009 at 2:33 pm in Three Word Story Group Interrupting his snack comprised of Ale and pork rinds he suddenly remembered his dog was locked in the ty bach back in Aberbargoed with a saxon wench of proper age to be jailbait. Looking for screwdriver to reload rocketlauncher to pop open y ty bach he found instead...a saggy hag...in a golfbag... "what a drag...to be squeezed...and rhymed poorly". Though better bard the border was. So thus began the...
Criteria for Indigenous Welsh status
03/22/13 10:44:19PM, by Anumpeshi Aduddell
I and my husband would like to determine if there is any interest among any of the Americymru members appertaining to developing a standard or set of criteria for recognition of Y Cymru or the Welsh people as an indigenous people. Although we are just beginning to explore our Welsh heritage we noticed that no such procedure exists although it would appear from our limited research that it should. The reasons are as follows:1) The Welsh originate historically from a Brythonic or pre-Brythonic...

Madog and the Welsh Indians
07/09/13 04:18:01PM, by Charles William Evans-Gunther
Hi All,I am interested to hear what folk in the USA think about the discovery of America by Madog in the 6th century or 12th century. I am also interested to learn what people believe about Welsh Indians. I am asking this from a point of view of somewhat interested in the history of Wales - mainly the Middle Ages.I would be grateful to hear your comments.Best wishes,Charles

The Welsh Chef ( Archived: Complete )
12/07/15 11:22:50PM, by gaabi
Started by gaabi on Oct. 1st, 2009 at 12:55 pm in Three Word Story Group The Welsh Chef prepared his best. Searching for ingredients he left home, spoon in hand, and fell into loutish cooking ways. Mixing cockles with mussels alive alive o. Steaming his whelks with some baralawr and laver bread (to be sure it was sweetened). Alas, for him, it made him fond of beans all the more. Beans on toast ...... with Welsh lamb! Flatulence soon followed and intense gurgling sent Llinos running...
Pibau Cymreig - Welsh Bagpipes - Pibgorn
01/18/09 03:51:13PM, by Ray Price
Hello all who are interested. As someone who makes his living as a bagpiper, I'd love to share a discussion on Pibau Cymreig, Pibgorn and bagpipes in general.I have many friends who play the Pibau Cymreig and Pibgorn - Antwyn from Carreg Lafar, Ceri from Fernhill and Jonathan from Taran included. I don't own either, but when the economy gets better, I intend to buy a Pibau. My pipes are the Breton "veuze" and the "English border bagpipe." Here's a photograph of my "Sonneurs de Couple" (myself...
Welsh language comedians? Digrifwyr yn Gymraeg
08/10/09 08:19:03PM, by Rebecca Redmile
I find the hardest thing about learning Welsh is the humour. Even "Stori'r Dydd" in the Eisteddfod, I'll be following along happily and all of a sudden the punchline will come, everybody's roaring with laughter in the Pabell Len, and I'm bewilderedly trying to figure out what was so funny. Maybe Welsh humour isn't like Canadian humour, but where can a learner get some good practice listening to it? And don't anybody write back and recommend the daily digest from Y Cynulliad!

The History of Welsh (American) Whiskey
05/27/10 04:41:06PM, by Mike Briercliffe
You are all probably aware that there is a very acceptable Malt Whisky, alongScotslines, distilled at the villagePenderyn, which is near Merthyr and in the County Lines of Brecon? There's also a Brecon Gin produced there which is equally notable. But ... who has explored the origins of the American Whiskies and suchfamousnames as Jack Daniels and Evan Williams? It's worth a dig. You may discover that the Welsh Whiskey makers were driven out of Wales and that this factor was one of the original...
