@ Meet at the Old Baths Car park, nr Guildhall Swansea,...
Attendees:  @Rhianne Griffiths

Leader: John France 01792-547439 Mobile: 07719829106

Meet:  08.45 a.m. Old Baths Car       Park near Guildhall, GR: SS 643 922 or Pont-ar-Wysg (Usk Bridge Car Park) GRSN820271

General Description: a 12 miles/19 Km moderately strenuous. Three Roman camps and a capstone grave plus fabulous views (weather permitting) especially over the Fans. Weather can change very quickly in these hills and much of the walk is over open moorland, so come equipped appropriately. No dogs.

Current Weather Forecast: suggests slight rain in the morning giving way to dryer weather with good visibility from the late morning.

Getting There.

Take the A4067 northwards out of Swansea up the Swansea valley. About a mile above the Dan-yr-Ogof caves entrance, take the left turn marked Trecastle. This road is scenic and narrow, ascending across moorland then descending through forest onto farmland. When you come to a T-junction take the left turn, marked Llanddeusant on the signpost ahead of you. Follow this road for about 3 miles. The road enters a wooded zone: as this comes to an end you will see a cattle-grid and a bridge ahead of you and the road crossing open moorland. Just before the bridge, on the left, is the car-park where we are meeting, at Pont-ar-Wysg GRSN820271.

This is a total journey from Swansea of a little over one hour. So the intention is to get under way at 10am and to be back at the cars by 16.30.
