Are there any Welsh Couch Surfers here???

I will be returning to Wales in April and May and have joined couchsurfing.com, where I have met many wonderful people here and in Wales. I will be surfing some couches in Cardiff, Aberystwyth, and (hopefully) Swansea and Cornwall. What I really want to do is find a working farm to stay on--but a farm close to a bus route! LOL! I will be in Anglesey, along with the other locations. Does anyone know of a good place to stay or is anyone interested in hosting me on their sofa?? If you join couchsurfing.com you can see my profile and also learn more about this amazing idea.Once I get near Swansea, I am flexible with where I stay--the dates I would be looking for would be April 26-29 (3 nights) in Anglesey and May 3-4 (2 nights) in South Wales--somewhere around the Brecon Beacons, Pontypridd, or??? I am not desperate for housing, as I have B&Bs to fall back on, but I am really looking for the personal connections with the locals and, if possible, a chance to practice my Welsh. I would also be interested in meeting anyone from Americymru for coffee/drinks if I am in your part of Wales. Thanks!Mona

Oh, yeah, I also stayed with friends I knew on some other days--it's the way to go! This was my first CS experience and I will definitely do it again.Mona

Oh, my gosh! I just got home from 3 weeks in the UK (5 days in England and the rest in Wales) and couchsurfed in Aberystwyth, Cardiff and Aberbargoed for a total of 7 nights--what an incredible experience! These people went way out of their way to make me feel welcome in their homes (and no couches--private bedrooms all around) and showed me sights I would never have seen otherwise, and told me about their towns, and introduced me to their friends, and fed me, and the list goes on. I made some wonderful new friends and recommend this to anyone who really wants to see any place from a native's point of view.

Stim ots--I can't wait to meet the people--esp. the ones in Cardiff that I feel like I know already! I'll post a full report when I get home. The local CSers are the ones we played mondo croquet with last summer and we also have irregularly-scheduled dinners out at various ethnic restaurants. The folks in Cardiff always have something fun going on. Even if you don't couch surf--the locals are up for coffee or drinks and are full of helpful info and tips.Mona
