The Parc and Dare collieries. I've sent you photographs of the Parc and Dare theatre in Treorchy paid for by the miners - as did Dai Williams the other day oddly enough.

That's the boy. I've sent you a Google satellite photograph where you can see the area. The dark patch near the middle is the hidden quarry.

Bwlch-y-Clawdd is above Treorchy right? Where the road goes up and over to the Ogmore Valley?

It's the local name given to that part of Bwlch Y Clawdd where a quarry used to be situated. It's not named on any map. If you notice the smooth looking path near the centre of the photograph that's where the drams ran on tracks to the quarry. Just around the bend of the path there's hollow where the quarry was. You can only see it by climbing up to it.

Just had a look at it This valley was the former site of the Dare Colliery? http://www.welshcoalmines.co.uk/GlamEast/Dare.htm
