But they did show enough respect not to recruit anyone who might be just as happy to kill Saxon invaders as they would be to kill Viking/French invaders, methinks.
Fascinating....I guess this throws some much needed light on the cataclysm/continuity debate in the wake of the Anglo-Saxon incursions. I have long suspected that assimilation was more common the further north and west you go and it seems that the DNA evidence confirms this. Diolch for posting Gaynor
