What Can We Do To Promote Anglo-Welsh Literature in The US?

Promoting Wales in the USA

Hi all

We've been trying to promote Anglo-Welsh literature for 5 years now. I set up the international 'Welsh Poetry Competition' in 2007 and we've had 2500 entries in those 5 yrs, and it's growing each year. This year we published our first anthology of all the winners.

http://www.welshpoetry.co.uk/anthology.html also available on Amazon although we only get 23 pence commission, more direct from us.

The competition itself will launch again in 2012 with a new judge and we are always looking for new talent.

We get entires from all over the world but it would be great to get some more from America that's for sure.

Anyway, cheers for reading this far, have a look at what we do here

Welsh Poetry Competition 2010

Promoting Wales in the USA

The new international competition is now open folks - http://www.welshpoetry.co.uk and we are keen to get many more US writers onboard as we know many people there write great poetry. Based in Pontypridd we are in our 4th year now and need help promoting the competition further afield as we do not get any grants or bursaries from the Arts Council or Academi and we rely purely on entry fees to keep going. Please pass on to anyone who might be interested.Diolch yn fawrDavehttpp://www.welshpoetry.co.uk

Getting noticed in USA?

Welsh Literature

HiI've just published (March 09) my first book - "Layer Cake", a poetry collection spanning the last 24 years. It's available on Amazon (.com and .co.uk) and from my own website but wondered if there were any good American magazines I could submit poems to, or if there was a good way of publicising it. I don't expect to make any money out of my poetry but it would be nice to get the work out to a wider audience. I'm eligible for next years Wales Book of the Year - http://www.academi.org/2010-eligible-books/ btw.ThanksDave www.david-lewis.co.uk/write.html

Rugby Wales vs. England

Rugby

Don't think Wales have much chance with their 2 star players (Gethin and Adam) out though :(

Humor

How can the Americans remake things and expect them to be the same? We've got "Coupling" - a funny version of the unfunny "Friends", but did you see what they did to "The Office"? I mean, people all over the UK don't get Carediff humour, oh dear.
