We choose to work with the finest yarns in the weaving of our blankets and also in our natural Dye Studio. By using excellent quality natural fibre, including Welsh wool, Welsh yarn, British yarn and luxury yarn, and by sourcing pure botanical natural extracts, we are able to produce beautiful hand dyed yarn. The colours from natural dyes are enthralling, each will depend on where the dyestuff was grown, how it was harvested, the fibres being dyed, and the method of application we use.
It takes time, knowledge and patience but we love what we are able to do at the Dye Studio and hope that this comes through in the hand dyed yarn. Have a browse through the hand dyed yarns and natural dye wool available and know that your project will be one of a kind. Hand dyed yarn colours, dyed with natural dyes may be repeated but they can never be exactly the same - part of the beauty of a handmade product!
Our Welsh tapestry blankets are part of the ‘Hiraeth’ Collection and nothing says Hiraeth more than an iconic Welsh tapestry blanket, baby blanket, throw or cushion.
A stunning addition to any home, traditional or contemporary. Using pure new wool on a 1930's Dobcross loom, each step to produce the tapestry is by hand using the skills and processes of yesteryear. There can be between 1700 to 2500 individual warp threads that are tied on to the heddles of the loom by hand. The ‘double weave’ design produces reversible blankets that are practical, hard-wearing and genuinely warm. Our range of tapestry cushions complement each of these beautiful Welsh tapestry blankets.
All our Welsh tapestry blankets and throws are made from new wool and are not vintage, used or second-hand blankets.
Our Welsh blankets and throws are made from 100% pure NEW wool and are a fantastic source of warmth and comfort. They vary in design, size and weight from heavyweight double weave blankets to lightweight lambswool throws and also the traditionally honeycomb (or waffle) weave blankets. All our Welsh blankets and throws are made from new wool and are not vintage or used or second-hand blankets.
These beautiful Welsh blankets are warm, soft and hard-wearing and a perfect combination of contemporary and traditional. All of our Welsh woollen blankets and throws are traditionally woven in Wales in limited numbers and are created and made with personal care and attention. This is because they are handmade by 'people' using traditional looms and not machines.
Hand dyed scarves in natural fibres using 100% pure natural dyes, dyed by FelinFach at our on-site dye studio.
Our scarves are a combination of hand woven Organic Cotton, Mulberry Silk, Silk & Cotton blend, Linen and Wool. Hand dyed using different dye techniques, for example, solid colour, shibori and resists at our dye studio. All dyed using natural botanical dye stuff and extracts.
Due to the handcrafted nature of our scarves, variations, small spots and slight uneven colour is normal and expected and this is part of the beauty of a hand made, hand dyed product, dyed with natural dyes.

At the FelinFach Dye Studio, we create hand dyed yarn. We also make hand dyed cotton, silk and wool scarves and shawls and hand bound books. We only use natural dye in our dyeing processes.
We aim to support the Welsh and British weaving, wool and farming industries.
