@ Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio Street, Racine,...
Attendees: @Dick Myers
The Racine, Wisconsin St. David's Society will have a special guest joining us for our 121st annual meeting, Gymanfa Ganu, and celebration of our Welsh heritage. The Hon. Dafydd Wigley, former Plaid Cymru member of the British Parliament and former member of the Welsh Assembly will be joining us and giving a short talk at our meeting. One of Dafydd's ancestors settled in Racine in the mid 19th century, founding the D. P. Wigley Company, one of the largest grain and feed businesses in the state. The company is still in business and following our formal meeting they will be holding a reception for Dafydd Wigley and offering tours of their historic building in downtown Racine. Church service at 10 o'clock, followed by light refreshments. Formal business meeting at 11:30, with by performances by the Society's music scholarship winners from the local high schools. A Gymanfa Ganu will end the formal meeting. Lunch (reservations required) at 12:30. Reception to follow at D. P. Wigley Company, 234 Wisconsin Avenue at about 2:30 pm.
