Video competition to find best of Wales

If youre a fan of Wales then why not share your experiences with others?

Online luxury holiday cottage agency Best of Wales ,are challenging people to create a short video that highlights the countrys best features and offering a 1000 prize for the best.

The competition is aimed at anyone who is handy with a video camera, including students, families and groups.

The entries will be judged by a panel of experts comprising of Welsh actor Matthew Rhys; former presenter/producer Elin Rhys, now the managing director of Telesgop, an independent media company, and Jonathan Jones, Director of Tourism and Marketing of Visit Wales.

As well as looking for the most entertaining, creative and original video, the panel will also be assessing its potential to go viral i.e. how well it encourages people to forward it to their friends or post it on blogs or social networks. Films should be no longer than three minutes long and should include a reference to the link www.bestofwales.co.uk .

Llion Pughe, director of Best of Wales, said: We have a top quality panel of judges in Matthew, Jonathan and Elin. They have vast experience in tourism and film and are also very passionate about Wales. They will be looking for videos that portray the best of Wales in a concise and compelling manner. Were all very much looking forward to seeing the entries and finding a deserved winner for the 1,000 award.

The winning video will then be featured on the Best of Wales website and used to promote Wales as a top holiday destination."
