The Paul Child and Phil Evans entertainment roadshow moves to Porthcawl tomorrow - but you'd better hurry because tickets are selling fast.
The show also features the new WelshKing Of Swing Jimi Webb and rising star Laura Jayne Davies - all backed by a superb live band.
Paul Child is known as 'The 'Voice of Wales'.
Phil Evans, pictured above the poster, is the 'Hugmeister of Wales' and the man who has put the 'Cwtsh' back into comedy.
Evans is a favourite warm-up comedian for TV shows on BBC, S4C and ITV.
Squeeze him for information on his favourite topic the Welsh cwtsh (hug) and he will explain why a cwtsh should always be spelt as cwtsh and not cwtch.
Press him for further information about how his comedy career started and he will tell you how he left school with 10 GCSEs . . . before the headmaster told him to put them back!
Cheeky, but never crude or offensive, Evans produces a very Welsh brand of humour.

QualitySolicitors Redkite partner Tim Haggar has a new qualification which is regarded as a major STEP forward in his industry.
Mr Haggar is one of only a handful of solicitors in Wales to gain the STEP Qualified Practitioner diploma from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
The societys qualification is widely regarded as major benchmark for those working in wealth management, tax, trusts and estates planning.
I am delighted to receive the qualification, Mr Haggar said.
Theres a lot of hard work gone into it and it represents something of a personal milestone for me - and a feather in the cap for the firm of QualitySolicitors Redkite!
There arent many people in Wales who hold the qualification, so I think it puts QualitySolicitors Redkite right up there in the vanguard as a leading light in the field of trusts and estates and specialist tax issues.
Mr Haggar had to complete three dissertations to gain the qualification.
His topics were
  • Lifetime Tax planning
  • Contesting wills
  • Inheritance tax
Mr Haggar added: The qualification is recognised internationally, so it really is THE badge to have in the field of trusts, estates and tax advice.
It demonstrates that you have reached a particular standing in the field and that you will be able to offer specialist advice for clients in their estate tax planning.
Mr Haggar was recently appointed to the Lottery Winners Panel by Camelot for the Mid and West Wales areas. In short, that means that if someone gets a bumper win in this area, I am one of the people on call to give them legal advice, said Mr Haggar.
Mr Haggar is based at the QualitySolicitors Redkite Haverfordwest office, but his territory takes in Carmarthenshire.

About Tim Haggar
Mr Haggar joined the firm in 2006, having previously been the principal of Rogers-Haggar Solicitors. His specialist area of law is trusts, tax planning and Court of Protection. He regularly advises high net worth clients on inheritance tax issues throughout South Wales and the West of England. He is a Court of Protection panel deputy member and regularly handles complex issues relating to personal injury trusts and statutory wills. His interests include cricket, football, music and investments. He has represented both the MCC and Wales at cricket. He is a director of Haverfordwest County Football Club.

One of Carmarthenshires leading tourist attractions is being improved thanks to South Wales architects the Lewis Partnership Ltd.
Aberglasney House and Gardens in the picturesque Tywi Valley is a landmark heritage garden attraction pulling in tens of thousands of tourists each year.
The Aberglasney Restoration Trust asked us to look at renovating and refurbishing what is one of the most historic houses in Carmarthenshire, said the Lewis Partnership Ltds managing director Philip Lewis.
Obviously, our plan had to be sensitive to the history of the site with preservation of the key historical elements of the house crucially important.
The refurbishment, estimated to cost nearly 500,000, will take in the entrance hallway to the house, the audio-visual room and include toilets.
John Weaver Construction, of Swansea, have been contracted to carry out the works.

The Cardiff Bus Song

By Lee Smith, 2012-09-13

Those fantastic chaps at I Loves The 'Diff have come up with something totally special. (they never let us down!) This time featuring something that is very close to the hearts of loads of Cardiffians (but probably an annoyance to some!) yep CARDIFF BUS !!!

They have taken the theme tune from The Littlest Hobo and totally rewritten it with lyrics such as,

  • "Maindy, Tremorfa, Pontcanna, Adamsdown,"
  • "This Cardiff Bus is taking us to town."
Paying tribute to the range of routes that Cardiff Bus operate in and around Cardiff and Barry. I'm sure you will just HAVE to watch it all the way through to spot the special appearance by Rhiannon the sheep and some other familiar sights from Cardiff. The bus-spotters out there may be watching for other reason (did I spot an A Aisla in there somewhere?)

Feel free to leave comments on the video and check out the I Loves The 'Diff shop at http://ilovesthediff.com/

There's a place, that's always been for me,
On Cardiff's streets is where I loves to be,
And every stop I make, I make a new friend,
Can't wait for long, just hop right on, and we're gone again.

Maindy, Tremorfa, Pontcanna, Adamsdown,
This Cardiff Bus is taking us to town.

Route 95 would take us to Barry,
But then it rained, so we took the 53,
And if you're going out drinking for the night,
Just grab the bus, chips n curry sauce, don't have a fight!

Llandaff, Gabalfa, Llanederyn, Cardiff Bay,
For three quid forty I can ride the bus all day.
And every stop I make, I make a new friend,
Can't wait for long, just hop right on, and we're gone again.

Maindy, Tremorfa, Pontcanna, Adamsdown,
This Cardiff Bus is taking us to town.

On sunny days, in Roald Dahl Plass I'll be,
When I gets old, I'll ride the bus for free,
Down in ol' Tiger Bay, and Riverside,
The bendy buses, take more of us for a ride.

Splott, Canton, Ely, Llanrumney, Roath Park Lake,
Oh, Cardiff Bus is the only one I take.

The 62 goes to Pentrebane,
The 85 take you to Lisvane,
And every stop I make, I make a new friend,
Can't wait for long, just hop right on, and we're gone again.

Maindy, Tremorfa, Pontcanna, Adamsdown,
This Cardiff Bus is taking us to town.
And every stop I make, I make a new friend,
Can't wait for long, just hop right on, and we're gone again.

Splott, Canton, Ely, Llanrumney, Roath Park Lake,
Oh, Cardiff Bus is the only one I take.

BUY 'FLIRTING AT THE FUNERAL' HERE

Praise for Chris Keil's third novel

"Flirting At The Funeral is a sophisticated, deeply mature work, shot through with oodles of lovely writing and shored up by many insights and ideas....." Jon Gower

"Keil's writing, which is limpid and arrestingly vivid, has a charged quality that conveys the mysteries pulsing behind the everyday surface of things." Nicholas Clee, The Guardian

Full review of 'Flirting At The Funeral' coming shortly on AmeriCymru.
