@ Beaufort Theatre, Ebbw Vale
Attendees: @Allan Yn Y Fan
Allan Yn Y Fan is thrilled to be appearing at The Beaufort Theatre, Ebbw Vale on Friday 6th August to celebrate the fact that the National Eisteddfod is in Ebbw Vale this summer.
To mark the occasion the multi-instrumental quintet is taking the opportunity to re-imagine some of their previous arrangements of some of Wales best loved traditional tunes and songs – for the Allan Yn Y Fan Big Band. Joining Allan Yn Y Fan on stage at the Beaufort Theatre will be Ruth Appleby-Fellows on saxes and cello together with Darren Fellows on trumpet. Band member Kate Strudwick says :- “ Allan Yn Y Fan regularly have a great time when we play to celebrate couples getting married – but last summer in Brecon marked a first for us, when we were joined on stage by the bride herself, (in full-on wedding regalia!), who proceeded to knock everyone out with her terrific alto and baritone sax work! Well, we obviously couldn’t let a golden opportunity pass us by and we now feel ready to unleash a brand new sound for Allan Yn Y Fan – courtesy of a monster brass section!”
