We have just received confirmation from the Chubut Provincial government of Rhys Meirion's trip to Patagonia in July and August of this year.
He has been invited to sing in each of the Welsh towns in Welsh Patagonia as part of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Argentina's independence from Spain. This clearly recognises the key role the Welsh played in settling the southern part of Patagonia in the late 1800s.
Rhys Meirion's tour will raise money for Ysgol yr Hendre, the Welsh school in Trelew in Patagonia. He has appointed Teithiau Tango in Aberystwyth as his official agent for the tour and they are now offering a package to travel with Rhys to Patagonia.
