  • Course 3: The Future  Lesson Six / Gwers Chwech

Croeso yn ôl i Groeseiriau Cymraeg.

In last weeks lesson we noted that the present/future form is commonly used after os = if. For example:

Os prynwch chi'r llyfr. = If you buy the book.

This form of the future tense is also commonly employed after pam na = why not , although most commonly after the 2nd person singular and plural - e.g.

Pam na phrynwch chi 'r llyfr ? = Why not buy the book?

It should be noted that the following formulations convey roughly the same meaning but that the present/future short form is more commonly used in this context.

Pam na wnewch chi'r llyfr? =  Why don't you do the book?

Pam na byddwch chi'n prynu'r llyfr. = Why not buy the book?

In this lesson we will be revising the short form of the future tense which we introduced last week. If you wish to refresh your memory click here . There are irregular verbs and the more important ones are listed  here Below you will find practice translation sentences and exercises together with this week's vocabulary crossword.
