Hi Ceri, Thanks for the welcome. I forgot to mention that my favorite vegetable is the leek. (And of course I meant Hay on Wye, though a slug of rye on a hayride is also good.)

OK, I found it now.. But it's NOT registering my vote.. Honestly, I tried to do what it instructed- but my vote is not going through. I'll try again later
Um, Ceri, I tried to vote on this-- But when I do the "Search & Vote" option, your charity doesn't even come up. I found the layout and process quite complicated. I tried Gaabi's name and then your, and nothing came up! I'll try again later this evening..
Thanks very much for the welcome. I look forward to spending some more time on your site but as of next Saturday I'll be in Wales till end of August, Swansea to be exact. My daughter is graduating with her Master's from University of Wales (MSc Business Management). She's working for University of Wales at Swansea as a recruitment officer and absolutely loves it. I'm thinking that Portland isn't too far down the coast from Victoria so the Eisteddfod in October might just fit. But from what I've see it's excellent!
Sut mae Ceri...
I think it fantastic the efforts you have put into this website. I have been tracing some members of my family who worked in the USA at the end of the 19th C and beginning of the 20th C. These included my great grandfather Thomas Lloyd who worked for a while in Butte City in Montana and then (we think) moved on down to Silverton in Colorado.
Like a lot of Welsh people they sadly had to leave Wales to try and seek their fortune.
I was down in Caerdydd not so long ago, (I graduated at St Davids Hall there but thats another story) for work and we then went up to Pont y Pridd. I will be back down there in a couple of weeks time visiting the Welsh Folk Museum. Its becoming a vibrant confident city.
Ceri - You may be aware the newly appointed Australian Prime Minister is from Barry, a short distance south-west of Caerdydd. We have federal elections due in August so her tenure may be short or lengthened by three more years. Our PM is the leader of the Labor Party, well spoken, well dressed, red hair, lawyer Julia Gillard.
Thanks for your warm welcome. Edwards is a Welsh name. It must be in my blood, because I greatly love choral singing and singing in choirs! Recently, a choir that I was in teamed with The Welsh Choir of Southern California, and we sang some of those powerful Welsh hymns, along with two compositions by a contemporary Welsh composer. Heaven! While visiting Wales eight years ago, I was in heaven again as I sat in on a Welsh male choir rehearsal.
Croeso Ceri, Thanks for a great welcome, am looking forward to sharing my love for Wales with all of you here. I live in the shadow of Ruabon mountain and inspired by your photos will post some of mine up sometime.
Noswaith dda
diolch yn fawr to everone. i have joined the site as i am very interested in the history of Welsh Americans.
Im no history geek but i have the upmost respect for the US and the fact there are Welsh there makes it even more amazing.
Thanks for being so nice! I stumbled upon your site as I was researching for my novel. It is YA Fantasy, but I'm trying to make it as historically accurate as I can. It is not set in Wales, though it is based on the Anglessey area and the last stand of the druids; I created my own world. I am fascinated with the area, the druids, and their stand against the Romans. I hope I do them justice:)
Thanks for the Welcome message to your group. Its an impressive site and I look forward to reviewing it further. Meantime, as an additional resource for your members who are interested in business related activity in Wales they may like to join the International Business Wales Group on LinkedIn which is open to all. You can also use the IBW group to promote this site and your businesses / events etc.
Ceri, these photos are amazing!! They remind me of what I love about Wales, the Welsh folks, and; if you don't mind my saying, a bit homesick. Our daughter, son-in-law and kiddos lived on the Taff Embankment near the SA Brains Brewery until last summer!! My son-in-law worked at the AA,just around the corner. They lived just across from where you marked 'my house', and to the right of the photo-just about middle of the green patch!! I've walked to and from theirs countless times while living in Cardiff....past the Millinium Stadium on Fitzhammons Embankment, down Cathedral Road or Cowbridge Road...happy days!! We lived in Victoria Park area off Romilly Road. Ta, Laurie
Thank you for sharing these!!!
Hello Ceri - bore da! just getting started here. I hope to make lots of friends here, and improve my (beginning) Welsh! I'm impressed so far from what I've seen of the site.
