Croeso Ceri & thanks for the warm welcome. I'm not Welsh but my wife is. We've lived in Wales for the last 13 years & love it. Barmouth, Dolgellau & surrounding area are breathtaking. We live right on the coast overlooking Cardigan Bay. Barmouth bridge is stunning. The town depends on tourism & the town has had 3 bad years (weather!). Hopefully, if the book's successful we may get more visitors to the town. Keep up the good work,

Dave

Hi Ceri

Thanks for the welcome. I'm currently in London and there's a good chance I'll be relocating to New York later in 2013. It's great to know this community exists.

Best wishes

David

Diolch Ceri. It's great to know that there's a vast Welsh community outside of Wales. You always hear about the Scott's and the Irish, but not a lot about the Welsh..... We must have been the silent Celts! Nice to see the Welsh language being spoken in other countries, outside of the Motherland. Wish I lived a little closer, would love to go to the Eisteddfod, went most years when I was back home. Loved all the different cultures dancing, singing, etc. Our local Welsh/Canadian Choir is going to the Aberystwyth Eisteddfod this year....Hope the weathers kind to them. Lol!

Cael noson dda ac unwaith eto 'Diolch' am y croeso.

hi and thank you for the welcome , Diolch am y croeso. Tarw = bull? . Blood pressure now normal after six nations. Try the following if you've not come across them before. rhodgilbrtcomedian.com. I caught his act in Durham, knew he was from Wales, but didn't know til he appeared that he was from Carmarthen, and so, 2 hrs of humourous hell as that is my home town. Funny+. Try mennaelfyn.co.uk a poet/writer/feminist strong Carmarthen link and someone I've lost touch with since college days.

If in Cardiff try the Mimosa restaurant in the Bay. It's named after the ship that took hardy souls from Wales via Liverpool to Patagonia. ref Cymru Patagonia. Patagonian potato cakes to die for. Some of the staff are Welsh learners and try it out on willing customers. If you you tube Rhod gilbert you might find a sketch about Cardiff Bay. Hwyl . ps have discovered a distant cousin in Seattle, a writer, Joan Davies Okimoto.

Diolch Ceri,

Good to be on board with fellow ex-pats. I've not travelled as far as some  I live in the land of the Saes, or as I prefer to think of it... missionary work in the land of the benighted.

This feels like a particularly good generation to have been born Welsh as there seems to be something of a more confident cultural revival and a greater appreciation of the significance of our homeland.... witness the popularity of this group.

I've really appreciated the support you have given me in bringing my Reso books ( http://www.literaturewales.org/writers-of-wales/i/133830/ ) to a North American audience.

Onwards and Upwards,

David

Ceri, I apparently got hacked(a while back now)but I just found out that even though I have McAffee installed, the computer (my PC, not my iPad- I'm using now)is infected. I will have to wipe the main PC clean & start over. I will be taking the tower in to be worked on tomorrow, and hope to be back by Wednesday. I will let you know if i can connect for Cymraeg Class.

Hi Ceri, thank you for the warm welcome.  I was directed to your lovely and interesting website by a very helpful and kind gentleman called Phil Rowlands, who contacted me on my Twitter page.  I'm a Welsh self-published author on Amazon.  I was born in Wales and have lived in this beautiful country all my life.  I'll take a look around your site and have bookmarked it.  Take care, have a good day.  :-)

A K Morgan.

Thanks, Ceri. I did find the assignment, and I think I changed my notifications so that I will get emailed when a new forum message is posted or commented on, etc.

Thank-you for being so welcoming. I am here to learn Cymraeg. I am very much a beginner! But it's so neat to have others to converse with. I plan on taking the course offered here. My dream it to make A 'pilgramage' TO Wales, and the Uk with a friend perhaps in the fall.

Annwyl Ceri. Thank you for your warm welcomes! Cardiff is a great city. I remember it before Doctor Who started their new series. People played badminton in Roath!

Diolch yn fawr Ceri, you did well to create this site and I am pleased to hear it has grown so much. Thank you for the warm welcome Ceri. I originate from North Cornelly near porthcawl but for the last 20 odd years I lived in Portsmouth, Hants prior to my immigration to America (Denver Colorado) in December 2011. My wife and I recently moved to Roseburg, Oregon, much preferring Oregon's lush greenery to Denver's high elevation and winter months of snow.

Keep up the good work
