Giving away books on Kindle

Very interesting business, this.  Having put 5 of my Angel Mountain novels onto the Kindle Store on Amazon, everybody has been telling me that I must do a free promotion.  So I have set it all up, and "On Angel Mountain" is available free, for 5 days (that's the maximum allowed in a 90-day period). So far so good.  But it's incredibly difficult to find a new "freebie" like this on the Amazon web site.  There is a "top 100 free Kindle books" page, but to get onto that you have to have some free…See More

About Me:
I'm a writer, publisher, environmentalist, husband, father, grandfather, rugby supporter, gardener, naturalist, reader, music lover, and hillwalker -- in no particular order. Best known, I suppose, as the author of the best-selling Angel Mountain Saga -- seven novels so far, with total sales (all editions) of well over 60,000 copies. The heroine of the stories, one Martha Morgan, now has a cult following of her own, and the "sacred place" of the novels, Carningli in Pembrokeshire, is itself a place of pilgrimage......

Putting things onto Kindle

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 6:00am 4 Comments

Hard grind, but I hope it's worth it...... I've spent most of the last week formatting and uploading  five novels for Kindle, available from the Amazon websites worldwide.  They tell you it's incredibly simple -- and indeed it is, if you want to upload any old rubbish.  But if you want a…

The Story of Wales -- a great opportunity missed

Posted on March 4, 2012 at 1:02am 9 Comments

The big BBC Wales TV series (made with the cooperation of the OU, Uncle Tom Cobbley et al) has shown two programmes out of the six so far -- and it's proving to be a grave disappointment.  The BBC calls it one of the most ambitious series ever produced in Wales.  Hmmm.   It's full of technical wizardry -- history and archaeology programmes these days clearly have to have computer generated reconstructions of absolutely everything, so as Huw Edwards paddles around in a little rowing boat on…

Time to hassle BBC Wales TV....

Posted on January 20, 2012 at 11:35am 2 Comments

I hope there are some out there who will agree with me that BBC Wales has been somewhat tardy is using its fantastic skill in the making of TV dramas for programmes about Wales.  I don't think it has ever made a costume drama set in Wales and designed to show Wales to the world in the way that Poldark…

Just wanted you to know that we are fine, hope you and your family are too.

Bob had a urinary track infection he is better now.  I fell and hurt my tail bone, that was very painful but is better.  On top of that we have just been having an enormous amount of things to do at our house, and we have been trying to stay focused and do as much as we can (a lot less than we used to do), it's all very frustrating.

Our love to you and your family, have a nice Christmas and don't get sick this year!!

I have not been on this site much, just haven't had the time.
