Our Mission Statement Croeso i AmeriCymru. The Americymru network was created for a number of reasons:-
Secondly we seek to promote Wales in the USA as well as the Welsh-American community and other communities of the Welsh 'diaspora' in Wales. It should be stressed that we have no political agenda in so doing but merely a desire to help familiarize our members and readers with the best of traditional and modern Welsh literature, music and culture. For this reason we encourage the use of the site as a 'shop-window' in most instances.
Having said that, any public forum has to have rules...so here are ours. They're just common sense really. We have no desire to be censorious so please keep it friendly and respectful. 1. No Harassment or Hate Speech. You may not use this network to harass or denigrate private individuals or groups of people identified by race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability. In particular, any reference to doctrines associated with, or referencing 'racial purity' may be subject to immediate deletion. This is not a forum for the airing of racial prejudices however subtly masked. Administrators have absolute discretion in the application of this rule. We recognise no duty to enter into debate on these issues, post deletion, nor do we guarantee to respond to email inquiries. 2. No Illegal Activities. You may not use this network to infringe the intellectual property rights of others or to sell products that cannot be legally sold and shipped within the United States. You may not distribute information that promotes or primarily describes illegal activities. 3. No Violent or Pornographic Content. You may not use this network to publish information of a violent or pornographic nature or to publish information that endorses or encourages acts of violence. 4. Promotion of Rival Services It is an unfortunate fact that some Social Networks discourage reference to / or promotion of what they deem to be "rival services" on their platforms. Whilst we have no interest in discouraging our members from joining as many Welsh or Welsh American online communities as they wish we can not allow this site to be used as a recruitment tool by organisers of groups on those Networks. This is a rule of "optional enforcement" and will commonly only be invoked by moderators when dealing with posts which seek to promote services directly analogous to our own. It in no way affects the right of members to advertise or promote their local ( state or city wide ) societies or websites which is positively encouraged. We reserve the right to remove any and all links dropped in the front page activity feed without explanation or entering into any correspondence. 5. Politically Insensitive or Divisive Blog Posts
May be removed at the discretion of the administrators. Political discussion and debate has its place on this site but not to the detriment of our core mission which is to unite all persons with a love of Wales and provide a friendly online meeting place in which to communicate. In all matters of post deletion the administrators decision is final and no lengthy email correspondence will be entered into. Whilst we have no desire to be overly censorious we will remove any and all posts that we deem to be either grossly insensitive, provocative, or likely to cause unnecessary dispute.
6. Special Promotions
Members wishing to launch 'special promotions' for goods or services which they provide, or on behalf of third parties, must first clear this with the site creator and moderators. Such 'special promotions' will be allowed to proceed if they are deemed appropriate. Site decisions on 'special promotions' are final and no lengthy email correspondence will be entered into in the event of a rejection. Individually messaging all members on this site and dropping links on their home pages will lead to suspension for spamming. We cannot allow this practice as it vastly degrades the effectiveness of the site. Many of our members have something that they wish to promote. If everyone dropped a link on everyone else's home page this would lead to a free for all and many members would elect to adjust their email preferences to ignore all emails from AmeriCymru. Such anti-social practices spoil things for others and adversely affect the integrity of the site. If you have something you wish to promote via this site please contact us and we will be only too happy to assist. We are able to offer featured interviews/articles/events/giveaway competitions etc which will be syndicated via AmeriCymru and other social sites. Provided your promotion has Welsh relevance there is no charge for this service. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
