Have fun wandering the world, but above all be safe.

Join in if you know the words, I'm sure you do!
This jolly tune was one of the very first I learned as a tiny child being sat on my Dad's knee and bumped up-and-down as we sang together.

Ffordd y Bryniau

I can't get about now, but Ffordd y Bryniau (the hill-top way from Caerffili, through Llantrisant to Heol-y-Cyw) is memorable for its spectacular views, its history and its lonely beauty. Ffordd y…Read more →

Hi Rhianne...seems comment expansion for groups on the main page isn't happening yet. But it IS happening for status updates and blog posts :)

Swansea Jack,  I don't know how I missed your addition of the LLyn Y Fan Fawr walk below, in January.

This is a magical, mystical place for me.   It's where I believed, in my youth, that the Lady of the Lake rose and took human form.

Someone also told me that the lake was three times as deep as the tallest point of the mountain that protects it.

I've walked it often in my past but alas, now I think I might not have enough, puff!

BTW - It great to see SO many people have joined the group since its inception.

Hi everyone!   Do you like the video I posted - Muppets are still a favourite of mine.

Hwyl,  Rhianne

Very tempting indeed Alan ... this is exactly the sort of content that I look forward to viewing in the Group.

(I've subscribed to your YouTube channel - the nursery/school children video is utterly, utterly charming and the Stanley Phillips 1930's story is awesome ...well done!)

Oooooooooooh Another lovely family walk. Head for the Gwaun Valley, home of Bessies pub the Dyffryn Arms. Park up at Bessies and head West down the road and over the bridge. The river path is signposted. Follow this along the breathtaking Gwaun Valley and you come out close o the Christian retreat centre. There is the option of taking a path East to a waterfall or carrying on along the road back to Bessies where the dogs await you with wagging tails and Bessie serves the loveliest beer from a jug. If you are lucky, someone might just have a fiddle or guitar and be playing or singing. Stick around and have a chat with Bess. She is a real Welsh icon.

Oooooooooooh! another lovely walk has to be, starting at Tafarn Zinc (conveniently a start and finish pub, complete with sawdust on the floor and S4C permanently on TV) head up through the farm which makes lovely Welsh cheese and follow the paths keeping a bearing on the top of Mynydd Preselli. It is a lovely graded but steep climb through meadow pastures until you get past the forestry land. It then becomes a very steep grassy climb. The effort is worth it for the stunning view at the trig point. GWYR - BRECON - PEMBROKE and CAERFYRDDIN. You really can see Deheubarth from here. Then it is back the same way downwards (much quicker) and finish at the pub. Iawn Mun!
