There doesn't seem to be much interest in a poll. Last week there were only 3 replies, so I have decided to discontinue the poll.

Hi Fans,

If you haven't purchased Rhydian's latest album, "Welsh Songs" (Caneuon Cymraeg) you're missing a real treat.

Rhydian's strong and wonderful voice are at the center of the audio with the rich supporting music in the background.  This is Rhydian at his best and would be great even if sung in English or Swahili.  This direct approach which highlights his vocal talent is, in my opinion, the best format for his recorded music.

Records can be purchased through Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk)

Thanks Aled.

I understand the reason for disallowing people outside of the UK access to BBC programming, but I really disagree with it.  It limits access to the culture and of its constituent countries.

In case you don't know, episodes of Rhydian's own new series on S4C are being shared at www.golyg.com.

He told me it was something he had always wanted to do and the TV series has given him the chance to do so.

Thanks for the post Viv.  I'm so glad he made this album, it really suits his voice and my mood.

The first episode of Rhydian's TV show has now been aired - rather than me give all the utube links just go to this forum page for links to them http://www.rhydianroberts.info/board/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=214

Considering he had not been well and was still not on top form, he has done an outstanding performance. Enjoy these and look forward to the rest

Thanks Viv, I just wish I could have been there too.

I think that it is artists such as Rhyd who will help to keep the Welsh Language alive.  It is really a beautiful language once you get over the visual appearance.

I took a granddaughter to Cwrs Cymraeg last year and she went home with such a glowing report that her younger sister wants to go this year too.

I have now been at all the recordings for Rhyd's TV shows - including a Christmas Special, filmed in a mini heat wave, temperatures outside in the high 80's Fahrenheit - inside the studio over 100 !!!! If you get the chance to see them it will be really worth while - I am sure they will be put on utube !!!

Last night I also went to a Choir concert in Port Talbot S Wales, where Rhyd was guest artist. He gave as always a brilliant concert, but also I was very moved by the choir's rendtion of "Working Man" which they dedicated to the recent sad losses in two mine accidents.

I really am so lucky to be able to go to these concerts and hear such fine singing in the old tradition and a very talented young singer using the welsh language in such a beautiful way
