Silver Sliver in the Western sky
The very horns of on-rushing night
Beam-on you do, and Venus nearby
Illuminate us with borrowed light
Beneath your sight does Time give chase
As with you our calendar we keep
And stillness surrounds your changing face
Prodding pondering on mysteries deep
Now we all hush to hear your Song
Bless us here, your witness bear
You who gaze out o'er the throng
Tell us what you do see there
Does Justice win, will Evil fail?
What Hope is there that's left for Man?
All we out here beyond the Pale,
Can we Hope to make a stand?
And yet we wait with baited breath
For Deliverance to come.
For One to put an end to death
And lead us boldly toward the Son.
And so we turn again to you,
Silver Sliver in the night,
For in you it shines so true
Your luster shows the path to Light.
