Let us know what you think about them. Solvers needed; feedback needed; contributors needed.
Comment by Swansea Jack on February 17, 2012 at 12:11pm The newly listed (in Directory) crossword puzzle service, Scribo Crossmots, is 'Sooo kewl' - see a sample here:
Clues in English / answers in Welsh - and vice versa - all in the same puzzle! A great learning tool.
You can get 104 of these puzzles per year via email, for less than a dime a piece - by subscribing; but you can get several free, just as a trial.
There are puzzles in more than 2 dozen language combinations.

ALL crosswords on the site are now free of db glitches and are 'doable'. Hope you will forgive us for the earlier problems but we are just getting our feet wet with the new component.
ALSO there is a new tabbed intro section at the top of the page. It is modal...which means stwff opens in a lightbox on your screen ( which is rile purdy ) and you dont have to leave the page (except to get to this group )
MANY more crosswords to come.
IF you want your successful solutions to register on the site please create an account ( all it asks for is username and email address ) and login before you complete a puzzle. You will earn Alpha Points on the Directory site for successful completions and for submitting clues, adding xwords etc. One day...you'll be very glad of those
Comment by Ceri Shaw on February 6, 2012 at 10:36am Croeso to our new members Robert and Bill....looking for ideas for new crossword categories, new features based around the crossword app and possibly ideas for sponsored crosswords ( which could be used for online promotional purposes ). Don't be shy, any questions, ideas or suggestions please leave on the wall here in the group
Comment by Swansea Jack on February 4, 2012 at 12:45pm Yep - that works - questioned answered!
You also asked: How should we take this forward?
My answer: Encourage (as you have) members to submit clues, categories AND to participate in the puzzles in Directory.
Clearly, clues (and of course the answers) should be submitted in the appropriate place on the Directory page (site) - NOT here where (in this open forum) any would-be slovers could see them!
I'm not sure of this, but is there is a way that puzzle-solvers can (after they finally give up) see the correct answer to any of the clues? Most crossword puzzles (in newspapers) have the solution the next day; and books have solutions in the back. How does a curious 'solver' become satiated within the Directory. If there is 'built-in' way, should we provide some means of providing answers? Maybe through the 'privacy' of the Inbox / Messaging sytem? Food for thought!
Comment by Ceri Shaw on February 4, 2012 at 11:02am There is nowhere on the Directory site to discuss or leave suggestions. The directory site is not a social site ( yet ). SO this group is for precisely the purposes outlined below i.e. to post ideas and suggestions for xword subjects , categories etc. Also for general feedback on the app and the puzzles we have created. Hope that answers the question
Comment by Swansea Jack on February 4, 2012 at 10:53am Is this the same as, or in addition to, the Crossword App in Directory? If it is (as it appears to be) the same, does joining here dispense with need for LOGIN there (Directory). If not, what does THIS Group do that Directory doesn't? - Except, attract and deflect?
