About The Left Coast Eisteddfod

This is the official home page of The Left Coast Eisteddfod to be held in Portland Oregon on Friday August 21st and Saturday August 22nd 2009 at the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom at 1332 West Burnside. The "Left Coast Eisteddfod" will be a celebration of all things Welsh and in particular of the American Welsh heritage which has so enriched the history of this nation. If you wish to buy tickets for the event or view an introductory slideshow please see above. An Eisteddfod is essentially an online talent competition and the various competition categories are listed below ( at the bottom of the page ) together with details on how to submit entries. Please submit all entries well in advance of August 21st. The winners will be announced at the live event on that date and competitions are open to all comers, regardless of Americymru membership. If you wish to sponsor the event or host a table in our vendors area please email americymru@gmail.com for further details. We are accepting donations for the purpose of extending the event to a second and possibly a third day. If you wish to donate please use the donation button at the top of the right hand column on any page on this site. The "Meriwether Lewis Memorial Eisteddfod Foundation" which sponsors the Eisteddfod is actively seeking 501c3 status and we hope to have this in place before the event.
